I was born into a story-telling, politicking family in Alabama. Broke a glass ceiling at age ten when I became the first girl to page in the Alabama state legislature, the same year I wrote and produced my first play. So, the two have gone hand in hand always, although writing has jumped to the forefront in the past three years. I'm a Pushcart Prize nominee who has co-authored two nonfiction books--and now I have a third looking for a publisher. More on it later.
I've worked at Pompeii, walked the Camino de Santiago de Compestella in Spain, climbed Mt. Vesuvius, hiked in the Grand Canyon and white water rafted the Colorado River, made a photo safari to Kenya and Tanzania, and politicked in Alabama. Certainly some good stories there, as if there weren't enough already just from family and friends, like the funeral when the family waited at the grave but the body was elsewhere....
I've spent a lot of time in school: Agnes Scott College, University of Alabama, a masters at J'ville State, classes at UNA; not to mention visits on 55 campuses and overseeing work on 122 campuses in the U.S. and Canada.
